Here I go at attempt #umpteen to quit, thanks to the BC program's popularity the little woman and most of our friends are into Week Two without a smoke. That was always my downfall, people smoking around me.
Contrary to what everyone says, the program only covers patches, gum. etc. The Champix pills cost me $65, $25 if you're on Pharmacare.
I was doing good last time, but ran out of pills before a long weekend.

Best of luck man. If you can at all afford the Champix, I highly recommend it, but if not extra good luck and remember... if you don't make it... you can always try again.

Good going, Herbie. Even though I quit last winter, my next GF must be a non-smoker. Still too afraid I'd start up again if I go out with a smoker. ...I went cold-turkey.

My wife still smokes. It's hard at times, but not that bad if the other person is at all considerate. Having kids helps too, it means that any indoor smoking is restricted to under the kitchen hood fan. Or the basement where I'm currently enjoying a nice Cohiba.

Good luck!! I did it cold turkey too, 13 years ago, and it's the best thing I ever did. Never looked back after 6 weeks.
It is nothing more than changing a habit.

Thx for the support. I'm re-trying my added incentive. For every pack I don't buy, I'll toss $10-$12 in a goldfish bowl on top of the fridge. The growing pile should help my resolve.
