This is an email I received from my neighbor, Jeanne. She's in need of help in finding an oncologist in BC who can assist with a needed treatment of Doxil that is in very short supply down here.

Quote:
Good News, Bad News. My HMO has doxil for my treatment on Sept 1st by scrounging for surplus from other hospitals in US.

I am on the approved waiting list created by Johnson & Johnson, the manufacturer, to receive the drug, but they have not released any doxil & no real indication when they will do so that can be believed.

My HMO has given me a waiver to have an infusion with doxil aka caelyx from Canada.

My next doxil treatment will be September 23. Does anyone know an oncologist in Vancover, BC or anyone in Vancover, BC who can assist me? That's probably the closet big city. I need to move fast. Perhaps someone in the Jewish Community willing to assist a member of the tribe?

Sign me "Desperate in Sacramento"

Thank you for reading this and thank you very much if you can help!

I'd help you out, but I don't live in Van, nor know any Oncologists. :(
