You should look into turning that weed into oil or butter. Eating it makes the effect last a lot longer. Although it doesn't work for everybody, it's worth a try - saves your lungs too.

You should have no problem getting a prescription so you can take it legally. Then do some research on the best type of weed. I get the impression that it's cannabinoids that help with pain, not THC, so you might be able to find a strain that doesn't get you high at all, just helps with the pain.

Since I always smoked pot exactly for that "lightheaded feeling" I can't answer your question there - maybe more chronic users on this forum can. I note that Mark Emery says he has built his tolerance up to where he's smoking 15 to 20 joints a day. He managed to become a millionaire running a successful business that way, so I guess it's possible to function smoking that much dope.

Too bad Curt isn't here anymore. He'd be the go to guy for this. I know there are reputable companies researching and putting out product specifically for certain conditions, product that contains little THC.

I couldn't see going thru my days zonked on pot any more than zoned on opioids. Although the latter are apparently very effective for helping somebody put together IKEA furniture.

Wow! Some days the pain is nonstop excruciating. Most days it is just extremely painful. The 'Wild wood weed' kills the pain in about 10-25 mins and then I get violently ill for several hours. Akin to 'the spins' on steroids. Complete with dry heaves. Reminds me of the time I came home after drinking the better part of a jug of Bon White. I was wrapped around the toilet, trying my very best not to fall off the world. My Dad walked in to the bathroom, put his hand on my shoulder and said " When you feel something warm & furry at the back of your throat, swallow hard cuz it's your asshole"! Later today the specialist in G.P. is supposed to be back from wherever the hell he has been for the last 3 weeks. Will be discussing with my Doc what my options are. I'm not too optimistic at this point!

Maybe this is what you need. It comes in different flavours....including mint and is made with high quality chocolate.

Going to star a new round of 'injection therapy' next week. I have an appointment up at the hospital next Tuesday. The Docs figure it may work better for me with the Gabapentin out of my system. It will be a month by then. Tough month. Tylenol has become my new best friend!

Since there is nothing else to be done, if these injections bring some relief I am going to try to go back to work part time. Might as well. I can't see just sitting around doing SFA for the rest of my life!

Damn, man! If there are so many complications with that kind of surgery and the mesh they use - why do they still do it? :(

Hope you do get to feeling better though.

^^ I have since learned that although there are some faulty meshes, that the majority of problems are a direct result of mesh placement. ie Getting nerves caught in the mesh. Seems that is my situation.

I had an appointment for Tuesday at 8 for the first in series of injections. Sat and waited for 1 1/2 hr. When I arrived at hospital at 7:30 I saw my Dr was dressed in scrubs. Turns out it was a 'surgery day not an injection day'!  I phoned and bitched out the clinic of course received the obligatory appologies, and told, "We'll have to rebook & call you". Still waiting! Fuck it. I'm going back to work after the week end whether I get the injections or not!
