This may sound callous, but to get on and stay on the transplant list, you have to do everything you can to avoid getting ill, because the list is so long and they want to maximize every transplant recipient's lifespan.

A friend of mine was an alcoholic and destroyed her liver. Because she couldn't stop drinking, her doctor couldn't put her on the transplant list, even though she was otherwise young (36) and healthy. In the end, she drank herself to death and someone else who could stop drinking got a new liver instead of her. It was terribly sad, but I couldn't blame the medical system for it.

I just went back to work last week after a 4 month break and am only doing 2 days/week right now. I'd easily say way less than half of customers wear masks though I am wearing one and intend to as long as I am dealing with the general public. Only a few snide remarks so far but I ignore them. Pay for your shit and GTFO.
