Phase 3 - this fall when it starts to get cold

- i'm going to replace the infrared bulbs with a traditional sauna heater. Many places will sell them for about $600 ( stainless steel)

- the sauna heater will mount just about anywhere because my walls are 1" thick lumber

- as mentioned before, I might panel the inside with cedar, I like the smell but not the price.

Additional notes:

- I dont see why the reflectix could be used to create a temporary and semiportable tentlike structure.

- and, I was also considering that the 800 watt infrared garage heater from Canadian tire might be a much safer and cleaner package to work with. I would definitely position it so the IR bounces off a wall before reaching you. 800 watts from a single source instead of a bunch of 200W bulbs will be a more concentrated heat source, some sort of effort to spread it around is worth trying.

- if you have room in a shed, why not just buy the heater and test it out? and make improvements if you like the results.

I use treadmill and trail running, rowing machine and dragonboat training, free weights ...I dont like the machines because they dont give and all over like free weights do and excercise ball and bosu ball....great workout...I also swim monday to friday at 5:30am and practice tai chi and yoga.

I try to get to an infrared sauna at least 5 times a week...i see i can just go to AR's and use his tho...

Never heard of infrared sauna's before. Interesting.

I use some free weights as well, but also the machines. Love the exercise ball and bosu ball too, great for balance and uses so many other muscles you don't normally think you use. Those balancing equipment are really good, love them, as well as the elastic bands.

http://www.solarissaunas.ca/shipping.php

best price that I found in Calgary where I can back up to the loading dock.

Personally, I had fun building my own. its been a challenge to think cheap, and be creative.

If you get into a northern ontario town where there are lots of European immigrants, you'll find everyone has some sort of crude sauna. Sometimes its just an old chicken coupe with a woodstove.

Balancing equipment is awesome!!! great for busting abs and reducing back pain. I am an avid surf skate and snow boarder, so balance and flexibility are key to reducing injury.

If you get a chance try out an infrared...makes sure it is one that the bulbs are maintained or it is useless...it is a great stress reliever!!!

My wife just loves the treadmill, she does it every day following the with the infrared sauna. What she does is when she enters the exercise room, she turns on the sauna, then does 15 Minutes of treadmill, once done, she goes in the preheated Infrared sauna.
See picture here -->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjqZ0aIAgFM&feature=related
since then, she says that her shin is much softer and that she sleeps better at night.
Good for everybody.
