Well they tried banning alcohol once realtively recently (Prohibition in the US). Didn't work out too well. They've tried several times before that too. We'd be a far better society without alcohol--just ask Saudi Arabia!

I'm curious how "Butane" made the list. And how Ecstasy, LSD, and Mushrooms scored lower.

Butane is used as an inhalent similar to gassoliene/white out/paint/glue and the physical effects are much more severe than most mainstream drugs

Yeah, they've made mafia more than ever cruel and smart. To make it like in in Saudi Arabia we need to become muslims. In addiction "No alcohol" is one of the good things of islam.

What I take away from Mr Canada's graph is that we should all stick to 'shrooms. Little harm to self and none to others. I did once roll a car (3 times) when still a little wonky from them tho, so I guess you've still gotta watch it.

They seems to take the social effects as a "lethal" factor. Yes, it can bring suicides. But 'lethal' for me is directly linked to the consumption of the substance. Like overdoses, infections, etc.

I've been a few times in parties where people were smoking crack. Personally, it was MUCH worst on social effects than alcohol. They are zombies just wanting more and right now.

Inhalant related to gasoline is one of the most dangerous "drug" for the neurons in the brain. Maybe the worst after that is PCP.

As for LSD and Mushrooms, they scored lower because they are not addictive and are not dangerous for physical health.

It's quite the same with "pure" ecstasy. The problem is you never know what is the content of a pill.

I don't think Saudi Arabia is that great a country to live in. I happen to quite like my beers, probably too much (but not too too much, if you follow). Frankly, I don't trust a man who doesn't drink. In vino veritas and all that. Just my oppinion. Plus, without booze I'd probably still be single. Actually I'd probably still be a virgin.

Thanks for the graph ! Very interesting.

In the alcohol bar, look at the "injury" score (light purple). Drug-impairment of mental functions (light pink). Family adversities (pale turquoise). That's quite evident.
