I'm going to mexico on Tues. Should I try to squeeze in a trip to a travel clinic for vacinations?

Visit http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/ and select the "Destinations' tab and click on Mexico.

If you don't have all your shots now, drink the tequila straight from the bottle. [B-o]

On Tuesday... like this coming Tuesday? Oy. Gotta love these world travelers.

Do you not think you should have asked about this a little before now?

At least one of the shots that you should have gotten before leaving (depending when you last received vaccinations) is a series shot. Meaning, you have to go in twice (with some three times) before you're completely protected.

Looks like you're gonna have to take DVC's advice and drink the tequila straight outta the bottle.

I got it dropped on me last friday from my boss. I have the passport, he wants me to go down for a week and set up a repair facility there. I know I haven't got much time between now and tues, especially with monday being labour day, just wondering if its that big of a deal? I'm the furthest thing from being a world traveler so I haven't got a clue what I'm facing.

Only drink bottled water, don't get ice in your drinks, don't eat anything raw that comes from ice unless it's from a bag, don't eat anything raw at all. Peel your fruit, since washed in water might give you the runs.

I've never been to Mexico, but that was one of the things I did when I went to Thailand.

bottled water tastes terrible, I guess I could pretend that I'm addicted to diet pepsi for 1 week ( yuck)

I'll be working in Mazatlan, being a tourist area I suppose that it will be easier to find bottled beverages.

Ahhhhh... okay, that makes much more sense.

Well, on the upside, being as it was your boss that has compromised your health, you should be able to cash in on quite a few sick days if you do run into something.

Stick to beer and bottled water as mentioned above, and nothing raw (veggies and such that may have been rinsed in local water). You may not be fine, but you'll likely live.

Good luck!! :D

Just make sure you have medical insurance before you leave and you should be fine. It's if you don't get the insurance, something stupid will happen.

Is your trip by chance related to the tuna packing industry???

I was in Mazatlan in February and you should be OK. The better quality hotels are quite good in ensuring us gringos are safe from a health perspective. That said, I still drank only bottled water (check the cap seal first if buying from a corner store) and used said bottled water to brush my teeth.

I'm sure your host will take you to dine at the better establishments. Do not eat from road side stands no matter how wonderful the aromas are. My buddy found that out the hard way in PV.

Tip of the day: Eat where you see a lot of Canadians and Americans.
