Double ick.

Eat very few things raw. Never alive.

Yeah, I'll go with this. I'm not a big fan of alive/raw food, but I would probably eat an insect if cooked.

Also, the poll options are limited for those who haven't tried them and could (or could not) be convinced.

If poor people and the French want to eat bugs then they must do what they must. Myself, I prefer a First World diet over a Third World diet.

I think it takes 10 pounds of grain to make 1 pound of beef, or 3 pounds of pork, or 4 pounds of chicken . . . or 8 pounds of crickets. And 1/10th the water.

Sounds like a viable option for those that wish to have a lower impact on the earth. But I don't like getting the wings stuck in my teeth. ;)

Didn't it become a sticking point with the 'hired help' that they couldn't be fed Lobster more than 2 times a week, because Lobster was considered 'poor people' food?

Good stuff, go hug a tree, and go chug a bug. Help yourself, have fun.

Lobster used to be, it is essentially a cockroach of the ocean.

Things change. :)

Anyone who owns a Harley has probably eaten a whole lot of bugs over the years.

Brush often.

Oh, and floss ....

There's absolutely nothing stopping us. We eat them constantly, or parts of them anyway. They're in chocolate bars, canned foods, cereals, the list goes on.

I think people would be more open to eating insects if there was a good bacon flavored dipping sauce.

Because it's gross, that's why.

Sure processed foods may have 1 part per million of assorted bug parts, but that's a far cry from a dinner of where your protein is fried crickets or something.

I tried deep fried grasshoppers once while in Asia and while they weren't awful, I'm not at all interested in eating them regularly.

If it gets to the point where meat is too expensive to produce -and I've seen reports that much of the world may be vegetarian by 2050 due to costs - then I'll eat beans or something else as a protein.

If they were processed, most people wouldn't even know that they were eating them.

My personal food motto:

If you aren't fast enough, you are food.

In Mexico, they often have grasshoppers in the markets. Caught, boiled then sundried or roasted, with pepper and lime. Pretty tasty!

Reason #4,217,382 why Mexico will never rule the world.

I don't think that the Mexican drug lords eat grasshoppers.

Yakhhhh I never ever think about eating insects because they are so ridiculous. Even I don't like to see them in home. But I see many people who like to eat them as like chicken.
