In my case the doctor found out something I'm sure you'd agree with: I'm a perfect a**hole.

Take care of yourself. A friend of mine started having serious stomach issues around Christmas. The doctor originally thought it was celiac disease. Over the next few months he got worse, lost about 60 lbs and they finally discovered some blockages. About 3 weeks ago they determined it was cancer and they planned on removing his stomach and rebuilding it with a loop of intestine. His surgery was on Thursday. I finally got a call last night that they opened him up, took a look and sewed him back up. He's being sent home because nothing can be done for him. His eldest is graduating this June, his youngest is 12 and his common law's 9 yr old daughter has known him as her dad for seven years. he just turned 44.

My elderly Mother-in-law was tested a couple of years ago for colon cancer, turned out to be infected and had laser surgery which removed it. It's so routine now they didn't have her come back in for a year. She's fine to this day.

Exact same thing happened to my cousin (and best friend) a few years ago.
Even though they did try treatments, nothing helped.
She was 53. :(

I feel for you.
