Yep, the AJHL started their pre-season schedule tonight here in Grande Prairie with my "Home" town team the STORM taking on the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

I wasn't going to go tonight, but with WRG working the late shift, I figured what the heck. I was expecting a typical exhibition game, lots of passing and shooting, but not much urgency. Holy shit, was I wrong....clearly, those boys are playing for their jobs and were given'er. Hitting, good passing plays, nice goals...not to mention a wonderful toe to toe slug fest in the second period. Pretty good for the pre-season, can't wait for the regular season to start now!!!

(Now, I had to leave part way into the third, but the score was 4-1 for the Storm at that point, I'll get the score up as soon as I find out)

Seems like soccer in Europe. What with the fun and games in Phoenix and the training camp for our Olympic team you get the impression that hockey lasts for a full 12 months.

Each room is a different fantasy so you'd have to be changing rooms in the middle of the night. Thats how it works there, it's not one of those places where you slip someone a $20 under the table and just stay long enough to mess up the sheets.
