What do you guys think of team Canada this year and how they've performed so far?

As a Leafs fan, I'm loving seeing Reims in net. :D

Looks like they're starting Bernier tomorrow in the quarters against Russia. :( Was sort of hoping Reims would get the call.
This game will definitely be their biggest challenge. Most of their wins this tourney have been 1-goal games against much weaker teams. If Ovi and Kovalchuk show up to play, it'll be an interesting battle. The game is at 2PM ET/11AM PT tomorrow.

In related news, the Americans got eliminated in the quarters earlier by the Czechs.

The World's are interesting, but it always pisses me off that it's on early in the morning while I'm working AND no one (except TSN) ever has much in the way of highlights from it because TSN broadcasts it - and I hate TSN.

You could always catch it later on TSN2. I have to do that sometimes as well. :|

Damn Euro countries keep hosting it, so there's not much we can do. :x

Well, looks like Canada got eliminated in the quarters for the 2nd straight year. :(

They couldn't hold off the last minute comeback from the Russians.

Pfft. I'm rooting for the Sharks. They have way more Canadians on their roster. (Plus, more notable ones) :P

Still sad to see Canada exit the worlds so soon for the second straight year. :(

I have been following the Worlds here in the States. The games have been replayed on VS. network in my part of the country. I have seen several fast paced, very competitive games in the series. My complaint with the Worlds is: why can't they wait for the completion of the Stanley Cup finals? Some of the best players in the world do not get to compete as they are in the Stanley Cup finals. Some may say that this is North American whining on my part. The European leagues have finished play. I would respond that a lot of Europeans play in the NHL. These teams playing in the Worlds are not a true representation of thier respective countries. I wish they were! The games would be much more enjoyable. My Bruins are still alive in the Stanley Cup. If I have to choose between watching the Bruins, or team USA, its not even close. The Worlds are not the Olympics after all.

Well, the Worlds don't really matter to us. Many players who even ARE eligible to play refuse to because they're too tired from the play-offs/season to participate. Also GMs usually need the time to get their roster and contracts in order before the drafts. They're just fun to watch, more than anything. Olympic Hockey is what really matters.

Speaking of fun to watch, did anyone see the Finnish player Mikael Granlund's goal? Pretty nice. :D
