Well, the local boys are on the road this weekend for a pair of games. I'm listening in on their game tonight on FREE FM.... http://www.1047freefm.com/page.php?page ... rentID=135

They play tonight in St Albert and tomorrow night a very tough tilt against the Spruce Grove Saints. I'll be listening to both games me thinks.

With what seemed to be a second period the Storm would have liked to forget, they couldn't quite come back in the third period.

One of their star players pulled real bonehead plays in the second and third periods. Travis Dunstal took a "hit to the head" penalty, including a 10 minute misconduct, that took the wind out of the Storms sail just after they narrowed the gap to just one goal in the third. Dunstal took two brutal penalties tonight including another cross check to the neck to give the Steel a two man advantage that resulted in the game winning goal.

Final score.....

The Grande Prairie Storm have ended the Spruce Grove Saints 10 game winning streak.

After taking a three goal lead into the third period, the Saints fought back to make it a very close game.

Shots on goal... Saints 30..Storm 29

FINAL SCORE....

Sure sounded like an exciting game all around, wish we were at the game.

The game lived up to the battle of the best two teams in the AJHL

I won't be going to Camrose, they have the evil netting and my friends future son in-law got traded to Burnaby at the trade deadline. So he won't be going up there anymore either.

WTF They've already played their one game in Camrose. 2 - 2 tie

They'll both have to make the league final for that to happen again this year. What, you trying to make me feel bad? ROTFL

That sucks...there was quite a few moves at the deadline. Looks like Prince George was cleaning house cause three of their top guys came to the AJHL. One to Grande Prairie, one Spruce Grove and I think the other was indeed Camrose. Everyone is tooling up for the playoff run this year.

This kid that went to Burnaby came to Camrose from PG. I guess he's a bit of a head case, he predicted that he'd make PG as a 16 year old, got cut and burnt bridges.

Must have been the same story in Camrose. When you see someone shipped that far away, it's a good indication that he has lots of talent but maybe not to good as a team guy. Defiantly didn't want to trade him some place where he could come back and haunt them in the playoffs.

Chad Carder recorded his first shutout of the season, as the Storm blanked Drayton Valley 4-0 at the Canada Games Arena.

Grande Prairie out-shot the Thunder 44-17. Goals game from Travis Dunstall, Zahn Raubenheimer, Matt Cumming and Blaine Bokenfohr.

With the victory, the Storm take a four-point lead (69) over Fort McMurray for second in the North Division.

Dunstall opened the scoring less than a minute-and-a-half into the opening frame, assisted by Tanner Fritz and Marcus Watson.

Matt Pasztor passed to a wide-open Bokenfohr in front of the net, and Bokenfohr made no mistake, tucking the puck in for his first goal of the season. Watson also grabbed an assist on the play.
