Now we wait for the same things to happen to Matt Cooke and most of the Boston Bruins and then we can have a fairly clean league.

With his record I'm surprised it wasn't a full season.

The headhunting prick has been suspended 5 times for the same offense and will likely keep on doing it till he puts someone out of hockey. It's a wonder why any team would bother picking him up given that he's starting to spend more time suspended than on ice.

2015 41 games. Head hit on Jakob Silfverberg.
2013 Suspended for series against LA Head hit on Jarret Stoll
2012 25 games Head hit on Marion Hossa
2012 2 game suspension for leaving his feet to hit Nate Prosser in the head.
2011 4 games Head hit on Jordan Eberle.

Raffi Torres will not appeal 41-game suspension

Quote:
San Jose Sharks forward Raffi Torres will not appeal the 41-game suspension that was issued to him by the NHL this week for an illegal check to the head and interference on Anaheim Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg according to a report from TSN's Bob McKenzie.

Torres had until Wednesday afternoon to file an appeal but has decided not to go in that direction.

Torres, who has now been suspended five times in his NHL career (while also having been fined and warned by the league on four additional occasions), has become one of the league's most notorious head-hunters in recent years and finally crossed the line one too many times in the eyes of the league with his most recent hit. Instead of just giving him another slap on the wrist, the NHL department of player safety threw the book at him and suspended him for half of the 2015-16 NHL season.

Along with the violent nature of the hit and his history of suspension-worthy plays, Torres had only played in 15 games since his previous suspension for hitting then-Los Angeles Kings forward Jarret Stoll in a playoff game in 2013. That hit resulted in a six-game ban.

Injuries forced Torres to miss the entire 2014-15 season with the Sharks.

Along with his current 41-game ban, Torres was also suspended for 25 games for a hit that knocked Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa out of the 2012 playoffs. That suspension was later reduced to 21 games.
