Our revered and much feared men's hockey team was shockingly defeated by the Swiss national team 2-0. Another shocker was both our men and women curling teams were also soundly fedeated by Italy and Japan.
That put a big damper on my day. How do you people feel about it?

Their goalie Gerber was awesome, not much they could do when he was in net. Canada lost to Finland today 2-0 again.

I watched the Can-Fin game today. Another scoreless defeat for the good guys. That first period was a real stinker, but the team rallied ALOT of offence and pressure for the 2nd and 3rd periods. But they just couldn't get past the Finnish net minder. Good thing it's only the round robin and not elimination.

Shadow_Flanker, hockey topics belong in the 'Sports - Hockey' forum just below the Sports forum. (For future reference)

Moved this thread to Sports - Hockey forum. Why does no one see this forum that's dedicated to hockey???

Indeed. I watched the Finland game and the 1st period unfortunately was a stinker. It also cost them the game. The Finnish were also playing Canada at their own game, physical albeit disciplined hockey which gave Canada's already weak powerplay few chances. I honestly can't understand how these 30 goal scorers can't seem to get the puck in the net..

I was watching CBC television tonight and noticed that they were advertising that they'd be airing the '72 series sometime soon... is this a new decision made today to nurse our ego wounds?
