I'll never forget that fight between "Shaky" Mike Walton and Johnny Mackenzie -that was the last leaf game worth watching --until they got robbed by LA in 1993:

when the Brian Burke deal fell through so did the leafs hopes of a good team in the next 5-10 years. That would have been the equivalent of Colangelo saving the raps.

There was no Burke deal.. Just Media Hype thats all. The leafs asked the ducks if they could talk to Brian and the Ducks Said NO!! Toronto kept insisting so the Ducks made a demand that would have stripped the leafs of a few players over the next few years. Toronto declined and Stopped calling.

Burke sat coy about the whole thing because he still has 1 more year left on his contract in Anaheim.

I would be careful to not assume there was no deal just because all parties say so when in front of a camera. 90% of these deals are done behind the scenes. Burke is a established lawyer he isn't going to publicly say the leafs have been talking to him while he is still under contract with the ducks. It's well known that burke wants to be back in Canada and T.O is the obvious spot. All signs lead to him being the leafs GM within the next year and a half, sooner if the ducks let him go.

The teachers union should sell the Leafs to some people who give a damn about the Leaf Nation instead of the cash cow it is for those teachers. They get their sweet pensions and we get no cup .. time to make a change in favor of the Fans.

Is that the game Forbes Kennedy of the Leafs went nuts and attacked Pieface McKenzie?

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LEAF NATION! The only "nation" in sports is Red Sox Nation. If you want to coin a name for Leaf fans everywhere, make up something original. The teachers' union DOES NOT OWN the Maple Leafs. And the Teachers pension plan is "sweet" because the teachers put a lot of their money into it. They pay for it. And put the "u" back in "favour", Dumbass.

The teachers pension is sweet because they buy companies and then rape them for the 10% gain before throwing whats left into the dumpster.
I've seen how they operate first hand.

Bring back the Ulman, Ellis & Henderson line...!!!! Bring back Baun & Brewer!!! Bring back the Polish Prince - Pete Stemkowski ie: The Stemmer and from who I got my nickname... ***

*** When I was playing Junior C hockey I got the nick name Stemmer... My coach said to me, "You don't finesse your way around the opposition, you steamroller your way through like Walt Tzachuk" (NY Rangers - late 60's, early 70's)...The assistant coach then piped in or like Stemkowski as I wore #21 at the time. From that moment forward I was referred to as Stemmer more often then my firstname by my fellow team mates... I even got a callup to the Senior Fairview Aces team as to fill an injured player (injured player was my Dad)...

Good comeback, Champ. My 2 year-old flips people off better than that.
