8O Damn, a well deserved and much needed win for the Canucks, bringing their record for this road trip to 1-1-1. Well deserved as the Canucks were badly manhandled the entire game and out-shot 45-30, full points for netminder Jacob Markstrom making his first start of the season stopping 42 of the 45 shots he faced. The game will do nothing for the Canucks' statistics in either the PK or PP, giving up 2 goals to the Blue Jackets' powerplay and then giving up a shorthanded goal while on one of their three powerplays! At the start of the game the Canucks were rated 6th in the PK roll and a miserable 23rd on the PP, I don't know how far they will drop, but it won't be nice. The best thing that can be said of the game is that opposing coach John Tortorella is still looking for his first win at home! The Canucks next game is on Thursday when they start the Canadian part of the trip in Ottawa.

After 16 games the Canucks are now rated 25th in the PP and have dropped to 12th in the PK, a drop of 6 places since the start of the current road-trip.

Vancouver at Ottawa

17

The Canucks look for their second straight win tonight when they take on the Ottawa Senators in the fourth game of their seven-game road trip.

The Canucks spent a good part of yesterday taking in the Remembrance Day ceremony in our nation's capital and while that experience is certainly one worth remembering, what they would like to forget is what has happened for the most part on this road trip prior to yesterday. Vancouver is 1-1-1 after the first three games on the road swing and, despite the fact they're coming off a 5-3 win in Columbus on Tuesday, even Coach Desjardins admitted he'd like his team to forget how they played in that contest. The Canucks were out-performed for long stretches in that contest by the Blue Jackets despite escaping with their first win in eight days.

The Senators, who are looking to snap a short two-game winless skid, figure to provide a much stiffer test for the Canucks, who could have a different look to their line-up tonight provided everybody is healthy and available. Yesterday's practice lines seemed to indicate that Jake Virtanen would be back in at the expense of another rookie, Jared McCann. However, both Virtanen and Brandon Sutter are banged up according to Desjardins and will be game-day decisions. Ryan Miller is expected back between the pipes for Vancouver. Ottawa will not reveal their starting goaltender until game day. (Update: The Senators have confirmed Andrew Hammond as their starter for tonight).
