Well...

That sucks.

4-3 I mean. I really thought they'd hang on this time.

Vancouver at Arizona

CANUCKS (7-10-2) at COYOTES (6-9-2)

The Vancouver Canucks, 1-6-1 on the road this season, begin a three-game, four-night trip Wednesday against the Arizona Coyotes. Vancouver finished 2-1-1 on a four-game homestand and got a lift from forward Brandon Sutter, who has four goals and one assist in a four-game points streak after having one assist in his previous 10 games. One of those goals came in a 3-2 overtime win against the Coyotes on Nov. 16. Vancouver rallied from being behind 2-0 and defenseman Ben Hutton won the game on a penalty shot in overtime. "They have a fast, skilled team," Hutton said. "We don't want to play from behind against them again." Goaltender Ryan Miller is expected to start. He's 9-1-0 with a 1.58 goals-against average and .948 save percentage in 10 career games against Arizona. Forwards Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin have combined for 95 points (25 goals, 70 assists) in 60 career games each against the Coyotes.

The Canucks take a 1-0 lead into the 2nd period for the 2nd game in a row thanks to a goal by Sven Baertschi at the 3:08 mark of the 1st period.

For the 2nd time in as many games the Canucks take a 3 goal lead into the 3rd period. Here's hoping they have better luck with the Coyotes than they had with the Blackhawks....

CANUCKS (8-10-2) at STARS (8-8-5)

Forward Jack Skille is expected to return to the Vancouver Canucks' lineup after missing a 4-1 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday with an upper-body injury. "We didn't talk after the morning skate, but we're hoping that he's good to skate (tonight)," coach Willie Desjardins said. If Skille returns, rookie Joseph Labate will come out of the lineup. The Canucks are 2-6-1 on the road and looking for their first road winning streak. "We've played well on the road and we haven't been able to win those games," center Bo Horvat said. "On the other side, we've played poorly at home and won some games we shouldn't. Hopefully it starts to even itself out tonight." Desjardins is familiar with the Dallas Stars' young players after he coached their American Hockey League affiliate to a Calder Cup Championship in 2014. "A lot of the guys on this I know well," Desjardins said of the Stars. "I've seen where they've gone from when I've had them to where they are now. Never at your expense, but you like to see them succeed." Ryan Miller will start in goal after making 35 saves against Arizona.

CANUCKS (8-11-2) at AVALANCHE (9-10-0)

Goaltender Jacob Markstrom is expected to start for the Vancouver Canucks after Ryan Miller made 26 saves Friday in a 2-1 loss at the Dallas Stars. Markstrom is 5-3-2 with a 2.82 goals-against average and .897 save percentage in 11 games. The Canucks, who didn't conduct a morning skate Saturday, are 2-3-0 in the second game of back-to-backs this season. "It's too much win one, lose one right now," center Henrik Sedin said after the game Friday. "We have to get on a roll to get back to .500." The Canucks are 1-1-0 in the first two games of a three-game road trip. They're 2-1-1 in the past four games and have gone 4-3-1 after losing eight consecutive games in regulation Oct. 23 - Nov. 7. Left wing Jayson Megna scored his first goal of the season Friday filling in for injured Sven Baertschi (foot) on a line with center Bo Horvat and right wing Alexandre Burrows. "Megna played well," coach Willie Desjardins said. "We have some speed. I thought that line would be good and it was good. He's been able to step in and help us." Former Avalanche forward Jack Skille played Friday after missing one game because of an upper-body injury.

Minnesota at Vancouver

WILD (11-7-3) at CANUCKS (9-11-2)

The Vancouver Canucks won't have top defenseman Alexander Edler, who broke a finger blocking a shot on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche. But they should get some scoring help with the return of left wing Sven Baertschi. He had his first three-point game of his NHL career against the Arizona Coyotes on Nov. 23 but missed the next two games with a foot injury. Playing with Bo Horvat, who leads the Canucks with 15 points, and veteran Alexandre Burrows, Baertschi was a big part of what has been Vancouver's best line of late. "The last eight, nine games our line has been really good," said Baertschi. With Edler out 4-6 weeks after surgery on Monday and regular top-pairing partner Christopher Tanev out at least one more week with a lower body injury, the Canucks will juggle their pairings and are counting on the forwards to help what is now the youngest defense in the NHL, with 22-year-old rookie Troy Stecher on a top pair with Luca Sbisa. "Obviously our D is young so our forwards are going to have to do a little more coming back and we are going to have to rely on our goaltending a little," coach Willie Desjardins said. Vancouver has alternated wins and losses the past 10 games after a 3-2 shootout win in Colorado. "We need to put a string together," defenseman Erik Gudbranson said.
