Apparently Henrik knows what he wants for his 1,000th point celebration.

It's this thing they do in Icelandic soccer called the "Viking Clap". No, that's not a Scandinavian STD. It's this:

Should be cool if it happens.

Hope the word gets out, I know it as a soccer thing between fans and players, shows respect for each other.

Florida at Vancouver

47

PANTHERS (20-18-9) at CANUCKS (21-19-6)

The Canucks are one point behind the Nashville Predators for the second wild card spot into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference after ending a four-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over the Predators on Tuesday. Vancouver has played one fewer game than Nashville. "I'll take zero points if we get two," Sedin, who has one goal and two assists during a three-game point streak after going without a point in the previous four games, said. Loui Eriksson recently was moved onto the top line with Sedin and brother Daniel Sedin. Henrik Sedin would be the 85th player to reach 1,000 points and the 38th to do it playing for one team. "It's very rare to be only playing for one team for this long and that's why it makes it more special for me so that's why it would be nice to get it here tonight in front of these fans," he said. Right wing Jayson Megna will return to the Canucks after missing one game with the flu.

Puck drop at 7:00pm PT

So, Henrik wants the Viking Clap for his 1,000th NHL career point. I wish him good luck and I hope he scores it tonight against the Panthers with Luongo in goal. Somehow, the "Viking Clap" leaves me feeling somewhat disturbed, maybe we could rename it Henrik's Big Hurrah or Henrik's Big Hand......anyhow, I hope he surpasses the 1,000 point mark tonight......GO CANUCKS....

What a great time to score his 1,000th point....His first point was on 6 Oct, 2000, an assist on a game winning goal in OT by Ed Jovanowski against the ......Florida Panthers.

.......with Roberto Luongo as the backup goalie for the Panthers......

Way to go Hank.....

Awesome that he got that 1,000th point at home tonight.

I thought it was neat too that after his teammates came out to congratulate him that Luongo also did. Classy.

And the Canucks win it 2-1. Their next game will be on Sunday in Chicago, the first stop in a 3 game road trip.

To bad, it should have happened at the end game when he was a star, (i'm sure he must have been a star ?) The first time I had ever seen it was when Greece won the 2005? Euro-cup in soccer, it's kind of impressive.
