I'm so happy Leivo is doing well. He's a good kid that just had no chance to grow in TO.

Nashville scored again in the 2nd, taking a 3-1 lead going into the 3rd period. The Canucks were once again outshot by Nashville 34-22 who were held to 0/3 on the PP while the Canucks went 1/5. The Canucks went 2-0-1 on this short 3 game road trip, taking 5 out of a possible 6 points. Saturday sees the Canucks start a 5 game home stand when they host Philadelphia, followed the next day with a visit by Edmonton. The Canucks are still #1 in games played, the only team to have played 34 games this season, they are #3 when it comes to games lost with 16 losses. When it comes to the Special teams the Canucks are 21st while on the PP and 25th on the PK.

Hyack Hyack:
Horvat, his 15th, with a SH goal with 44 seconds to play

Bo is quietly on pace for a Hell of a season. That looks like he's on pace for close to 40. Well, mid 30s anyway.

Year after year, he just keeps getting better:

I've never played with the stats gizmo at NHL.com but it is fun, isn't it?

http://www.nhl.com/stats/team?reportTyp ... alsAgainst

I was curious how we were doing in goal scoring this year. Last year we were bottom of the league, as I recall.

This year we're tied for tenth from the top with Pittsburgh. That's something like a rise of 21 spots up the leader board. Go us for scoring improvement this year.

Unfortunately we're tied for third highest amount of goals scored against us. Get on the ball defence.

That's right. They had that little spurt of wins at the end, didn't they? So I was off by 5 spots on the 'goals for' last year.

I just remembered how a few times last year the broadcasters were so pleased to tell us we were on the bottom of the league for goal scoring.

Still...moving up 16 places in a year. That's impressive too.

At the beginning of the season the broadcasters kept asking "Where are the Canucks going to find the points the Sedins were getting?" Those points were not only found, they were surpassed, it would seem.

Also isn't it impressive how much faster our team has gotten?

And next year the speedy skilled defenceman Quinton Hughes should join the big team along with Thatcher Demko who we hope will be the # 1 star goalie of the future. Our # 1 draft pick from 2016, defenceman Olli Juolevi might be ready too. Hopefully these sorts of things will help improve our shameful goals against stat.

Where are you finding last year's stats btw, Hyack? I was looking for them too.
