Agree about installing a new stem to get the handlebars to the correct height-that's paramount as people age-as any decent bike shop will tell you.

LMK how it goes.

On paper at least, I like this one: Image
http://www.konaworld.com/bike.cfm?content=dew_deluxe 9 speed drive train, disk brakes. But since you're a Frenchie, take a look at Devinci (they invented the performance hybrid idea) and Opus.

My choice up til now. I'll go get it tomorrow.
Very good dealer... adjustments are garanteed for as long as I own the bike. They will also install and adapt my bike-racks from my other bike. One other thing I like is that for a couple of months, if I want to change the seat, they'll just charge me the diff in price. I won't be getting the suspension.

How much?

I would consider changing that seat right away. Looks like an armchair, not a saddle. I think you would find that over longer distances it would become a pain. But saddles are a real individual thing. I've got a friend who rides saddles almost as grotesque as the one on your bike, and he does fine doing longer rides.

You're also getting some very low end components, but I guess you can upgrade as they wear out.

Anyway, happy cycling.

Looks like they actually give you a different frame to fit the rigid fork - the head tube seems to extend downward farther on them.

You didn't consider the Adagio at all?

About 500$, I still have some negociation to do, if I had an unlimited budget, there are some nice 7500$ bikes. 8O
That's not the saddle I'm getting, more along the lines of a racing saddle, with a bit more padding. I tried it out for a short ride, with a quick adjustment, and I'm very comfortable on it.

Well, happy trails. Good to see you're going for a Canadian bike, even if no part of that bike was actually made in Canada.
