Is it just me, or could most of that thread be dated from right now and still make complete sense? How sad is that?

Yup.

But the money the Bloc gets from the Feds, fed into the PQ system, ensures
the Bloc isnt going anywhere, unless the people in Quebec get rid of them.

It seems that the Bloc has a real fun time being a perpetual pain the ass while whining about money.

Why desolve the Bloc?

Just put them where they belong...on the Provincial ballot!

They should just throw in a rule as follows:

"All Federal parties must run representatives in more than one Province."

Done!

If people want to vote for the Bloc then there is a need for that party. Personally I believe that they are just tapping into a vein of Quebecois insecurity with being Canadian, (and Quebec will never leave) but surely it's better for people to express themselves at the ballot box than go back the FLQ stuff.

EB, these people should vote NDP instead of Bloc.

There are some percentage of the population, Quebec and ROC, that are politically left of centre, and that's alright.

The point is that the Bloc, a Federal party, serves no purpose other getting paid & getting a fat pension from the Federal Govt. Sure, upon its creation, Lucien Bouchard said its duration was only for a few years. Now the Bloc, helped by the provincial media, gets vote on no platform. Like stated previously, people mostly vote out of protest to other Federalist parties.

I do agree Pimp, but I always think people (no matter how dumb) should be free to choose.
