The Conservative government is working hard to stop massive explosions from happening in your back yard. They have now invested $826 000 to Cardinal Meat Specialists Ltd to create a burst-proof sausage.

Instead of investing the money in the economy and helping people get decent jobs, lets throw almost 1 million dollar into sausage research. All I have to say is give me a break. You could have gave 20 jobs for a year with a salary of $41 300 to each of them.

I hope than when the federal elections happen in Canada that more Canadians vote for another party. It’s true that many of them don’t keep all their promises, but hey at least they don t spend my tax dollar like this.

Until next time,

Antonio

What's the problem? The government is helping a company that wants to invest in new equipment. Does it really matter the reason behind the new equipment? It's obviously something this company thinks will improve it's market share.

Exploding sausages are the choice of terrorists world-wide. Kudos to the Harper Government for working to end this scourge! [B-o]

What's wrong with funding capital investment?

"The investment…will help the company purchase new manufacturing equipment that will produce a higher quality sausage that is more resistant to splitting or bursting while cooking,"

You might have given 20 people a $41K job for a single year, or you can help a producer make a more marketable and valuable product for many years.

I hope when the elections come around people that are against the current government still have lots of stupid to dish out.

Perhaps they kept you warm, but what about the poor sods who had to sleep out in the rain to get away from the green gas. That aside, nothing wrong with what Stevo's gov is doing, in this case!

I am tired of going to bite into a sausage and it exploding, burning the shit out of my mouth. Kudos to Harper, for thinking of those thousands of Canadians who suffer this horrible BBQ related injury every year.

I was under the impression that companies found investers to fund thier industry. I was not aware that the government funded every company, Stupid me.

I just watched a true movie about a young immigrant from Afganistan. It showed the struggle she had all her life in Afganistan. Her Mom, Dad, and 4 brothers were killed by the Taliban. She lived with her one remaining brother as some of her female neighbours begged her to teach them to read. For this she was beaten and her last remaining brother was killed for "allowing her to do this". She finally made it to America and went through untold indignities for months before she finally was accepted.
My point is people are being beaten and/or killed everyday. Many die of starvation every day.
We here, are crying for improved ecucation and medical among untold other critical situations that need improvement and here we are spending hundreds of thousands on sausages. And then we complain about our taxes increasing every year, not to mention the deficit. How ridiculous is that?

So the government shouldn't invest in its economy? How else are we going to reduce the deficit?

This adds value, if a discovery is made. That value can result in Jobs, lessening Poverty, Hunger, and other things as well.

I have no problem with these kinds of things. I also don't have problems with Art Funding, as it too adds value.
