No, we just come up with our own sports rather than lay prostate to the red coats and proclaim, "Oh Glorious British Overlords! We'll play what ever sport you teach us! Just let us live under the glorious gaze of Queen Victoria!"

Yeah...like all nations that play soccer were british . You might want to check out the origins of your own national sports. Baseball originated from Rounders and Football from Rugby...two very British sports....But hey it's not like America came into being over something like the the Rights of Englishmen being violated.

And soccer came from the first bipedal humanoid to kick a rock.

Like our governmental system, we took inspiration from British sports and made vastly improved new ones rather than just accept what the British had. But you are right; the only really North American sports would be lacrosse (obviously) and maybe basketball. But we digress...

I enjoy watching the CFL... the talent could be better and maybe ditch the ads on the field, but only having 3 downs makes it more interesting.

American football is too much like Rugby...too much running with the ball and not enough passing.

Being young, stupid and drunk is just one piece of the puzzle.

They could have started killing people in the street the same way they put the cars on fire.

It was something in them that needed to get out, but was it only about the game?

Although I'm not a fan of the game myself, it is definitely a sport that requires quite a bit more conditioning and stamina to play at a professional level than a lot of other sports.

But there is still no sport that beats the speed, finesse, emotion and hard hitting action of a hockey game.

I've played soccer and it's lots of fun. You're always moving. In hockey the lines just sit on the bench and watch, in football it's either offense or defense and the play stops all the time. I also played baseball in Vancouver's Cosmic league and that was a lot of fun too, tho baseball itself had little to do with it. But play what you like. Watching sports you don't play for yourself, well I'll keep my opinion of that to myself.
