Another Noob joining in. Now, that's just great. Rolling Eyes

I have not said one word that would suggest anything about his race. On the other hand, there is the fact that Quebecers settled on this land long before that idiot. So he can go somewhere else about his Quebec bashing. I don't care how much taxes he forks out, but there is no proof and surely it has to be a joke. Smile

Also, there are so many threads about Quebec that there is no need for another new one.

Eventhough you you seem to want to provoke, I will keep away from the insults. But you should take a look at some older threads, these topics have already been mentioned. Now at least do that before telling anyone to shut up. Confused

Maybe you should keep your comments for these kinds of threads. ROTFL_Animated

Maple Leafs out of playoff contention

mmmmm...hmmmm....

I'm sorry, umm, noob? are you 12? Noob in what, World of Warcraft? Posting on forums? Can you please explain a noob on what?

Now...If I live here, and pay taxes here, I damn well have a right to make decisions that will affect me. I will exercise my option to vote. I will exercise my option o bitch, and I i need to, I will exercise my option to listen to arguments.

Yes Quebecers have been here for longer than I have, that, I cannot dispute. However, I am adamant that provinces should pay up for most, if not all of their own expenses. That cannot be done with the percentage of contribution we are giving to the feds, who in turn decide what to do with our money. I believe Canada needs to learn an exercise in micro management. Don't be so cocky as to believe this country cannot become even better and more efficient. There's vast room for improvement in the way the tax regime, and social programs are being implemented.

Btw, the Brits and the French established themselves here way before you. We are the ones that built this country to where it is today.

Only one word of advice for you. Yes, it may seem a little harsh but, if you don't like Canada and the way it is, there is nothing to stop you from leaving, that's all.

I was gonna say that I would pay for your fare outta here, but it seems as though you have enough cash to do it yourself.

Have a nice day.

And therefore your point about ownership is fundamentally flawed - my original point. Let's further your rather overgeneralized point - what about the Iroquois pushing the Huron off their land? Are they accountable? What about European settlers that were targeted by natives? There were atrocities committed by BOTH sides, but you seems fixated on only drawing ahistorical generalizations about those of Europeans descent. In fact, all of your "historical" examples seem to focus on one ethnicity, but you omit Middle Eastern conflicts, Asian events or pre-Contact South America. I wonder why?

I went to Calgary this week to oversee operations on one of our regional offices. I was given a tour by a local manager. Chillingly racist comments were made against natives as we drove past a "no go zone" apparently with mostly natives residents. The gentleman didn't seem to be able to tell the difference between Huron and Iroquis. Or care.

The reason I ommit it is plain, skin color dictates our first impressions. 2 native tribes will eventually fight, one will win, kill men, take women, repeat. However its not the same when they are two different skin colours. I'm sorry, but the sad truth is skin colour is so evident and as such, cannot be ignored. I know i digress, but the truth is that white is white, brown is brown, etc. People are treated differently based on their skin color, and the natives got the stick of it. Blacks in America, Chinese in India, racism and skin color dictate which group will rise to be in control of another, not tribes.

I know you built this country. Doesn't mean you built it to perfection. I always see Canada as a work in progress, not a finished product. It needs alot of improving. I don't dis-like it enough to run away and leave all my friends and family behind. However, I do participate in as many events, that can make a change. That's all.

The only thing that Canada needs improvement upon, is its immigration.

And I will stop this before it goes too far since I like this site.

But I will say this, Please take a look around, there are so many other threads which you could be reading, it's all been explained before.

If you would at least do a little research on any province before you start threads as stupid as this one, it sure would go a long way.

Again, if you don't like Canada or know anything about it, at least have the decency to abstain yourself from making any comments. On that, have a nice day.

And this has what to do with your ahistorical over-generalizations? This still doesn't alter my point or help your crumbling one.

Point? Europeans were not exclusive in conflicts on North American soil. They also weren't all responsible for geographical displacement nor was the land they did acquire always the result of war, swindling or stealing. You omitted these historical realities and your points and accusations are still fundamentally flawed.

When your ancestors came here they saw snow and trees. They probably didn't mind improving it. And they did. Built Cities, an energetic economy, etc. They could have taken a que from your mentality, they could have just left, since it wasn't theirs anyways. The people who come to this country will continue to make it better. Through taking action of course.

On that note, have a nice day.

Uhmmm, im not sure what your point was. I'm saying its a racist world and Natives are treated like shit in North America. Don't get me wrong, white people/European are NOT the most racist people as some would have us believe. There are far worse (Caste system for example). All people are racist.

My point is this country is a work in progress, first there were the aboriginals, then the French, British, more British, Italian, Ukrainian, Czech, German, and so on. Now its Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nigerian, Chinese, whatever. This country is constantly changing demographics. And as people come, they will continue to bring new ideas to the table. There will be a constant reshaping of our culture. And they will implement changes through votes, political manipulation, business, and culture.

I believe that provinces need to be more open, less bureaucracy between them, more responsibility BY THEM, and far more micro-management, and far less macro-management. But hey, if me being a first generation immigrant makes me ineligible to express my views, and even take actions, then fuck it.

Stop the unfairness. I'm tired of seeing my tax money go to Prince Edward Island's parks. I'm tired of the giant potholes my city cannot fix because my money has been "transferred" to Quebec for their social programs. Stop the madness.

discuss....

Fairness is distributing costs and benefits in a way that maximize social cooperation.

Uhmmm, my point was that your initial misstep of "Don't forget your white parents killed or evicted the natives off their own land" was just that, an erronous statement. You've done nothing to substantiate it.

Of course this nation is a work in progress, but simply because new people arrive doesn't automatically mean their cultural, political or economic ideas need implementation. Some of them are socially regressive and run counter to the ideas, mores and legal traditions that made this nation great AND a desirable place for them to immigrate to in the first place. At the end of the day, Canada is a pretty good place to live and when its compared to some of the sh*tholes that exist globally, i'm quite content with its present situation and future. Those that don't like its core principles are certainly welcome to go elsewhere.

Canada - despite some issue with federation - politically runs well. Perhaps you should look up the reason behind equalization payments as the impetus behind their implementation is really part of the Canadian spirit.

If you have giant potholes in need to be fixed, it is because you have too much roads, too much big cars, in short, too much easy money. By increasing equalization payments from 50% of economic rents, like the situation now, to 100%, you would prevent potholes to occur.

This will probably be my last post of this thread.

Although, I must admit that it was uncalled for me to use words such as ''Noobs'' and am gonna apologize for that. And perhaps, some posts were a little harsh and could have chosen a better choice of words.

But the fact remains that Quebec is a part of Canada. Plain and simple. So, as many of you have noticed, I will comment on this very point strongly.

I don’t have a problem with those who want to express their opinion on this forum. I have on several occasion mentioned that Quebec, at times, gets more than it should. Hence the reason for me stating for some to look at some older threads on this forum since these topics have already been covered.

At the same time, some should do a little research about any particular province before jumping to conclusions. By that I mean, as for Quebec, there are Separatists and Federalists, at least for the most part. And often enough, Separatists are usually the ones that are caught up in controversy. It would be nice for some to actually make that differentiation. But then again, all you hear is how Quebec is screwing the rest of the country. Maybe in some ways, yes, but it is up for anyone that posts, to accentuate their criticism at least with some facts to back it up.

It's quite easy to start a thread on Quebec, but, at the same time, there are some that could use better constructive arguments in stating their opinions. The intentions here sometimes reflect a lack of understanding on ''fiscal imbalance'' and any other particular issues at hand.

As for Alberta, yes, it probably gets screwed. I do not want to further my comment on this issue since I am not all that familiar on its contribution to the Federal Government and the amount of money it gets in return. Plus, you have never seen ''The Pimp'' bash AB, or any other province for that matter.

As for the immigrant part, I was only using that to illustrate that there are new immigrants in this country that constantly complain about our standards and political values. Cannot even comprehend that those who have chosen to come here, yet want to implement their own values simply because ours are not good enough. It is their way or no way at all. Well then, it is much better for that person to leave if they do not like it. That sounds reasonable.

Too much people writing here have no idea what a country is; they are only modern-day nomads and all they know is if there is potholes on their way to nowhere.
