Weaponization of space would make terrorists easier to root out and expunge.

Uh, no it won't. It's supposed to deal with incoming ICBM's, not terrorists. But keep on believing that if it helps you sleep at night.

"We haven't reached the point of strafing and bombing from space," Pete Teets, who stepped down last month as the acting secretary of the Air Force, told a space warfare symposium last year. "Nonetheless, we are thinking about those possibilities."

Once again hwacker, you fail to make any sense.

Either way, with the nasty cold I just picked up, Nyquil helps me sleep at night as of late.

And when the bombs blow you up,Nyquil will no longer be effective to aid in your sleep.

IceOwl IceOwl:
Would space-based weapons find the next Theodore Kaczynski? Probably not. Missile shields and weapons in space are ideas for a bygone era.

The best defense measure against people who want to hijack the security of our nations is collaborative foreign policy based on justice and law, and investigative multilateral policework.

As for the chance of nuclear weapons flying overhead, if it happens, there's not much that can be done about it, no matter what kind of countermeasures exist. So far, all of them are based on successfully shooting down missiles by sheer luck. There is no missile defense system in the world which can distinguish between a real missile and a cloud of decoys. The better policy would be nuclear disarmament of all nations.

There are things yet to be created that you nor I can even think about. So please don't claim that "not much can be done" about stuff.

Unrealistic and will never happen. Nuclear arms is a negotiating means and if that negotiating means gets one party a particular benefit or persuasive measure, they will never acquiesce their arms. Nuclear diplomacy is the basic means of negotiating nowdays, hence the nuclear powers who pretty much hold sway over the rest of the world.

If technology improves and makes things easier, than ponder this... Would that not be a good thing IF it involves LESS deaths than currently upheld as of now?

If the choice was a cure to cancer, AIDS, eradication of poverty and pollution, accessible and free health care, education and transportation for all major cites vs weapons in space then which would you choose? This is an either or choice as the cost is that high as we are talking in trillions.

The trillions that will be spent on this could be spent on more effective projects now. The credence that weapons in space will better defend rings hollow when you consider just how expensive it is. Weapons in space should be considered when we have colonies in space that we derive resources from, thus something to defend and with the means to support said weapons.
