Some of you actually think it would be a good thing if the military kept rule in Egypt? Really? This is a military that is detaining anyone who speaks out against it and trying them in military court. They have used excessive force in putting down peaceful protests, killing over 40 people with tear gas, beating and even live ammunition. Yes, shooting and killing peaceful protesters to try to silence them.
Having a conservative religious group running a country is never a good thing, in my opinion, (hey, look at the States), but it is democracy, and that is what the people choose (at least in the first round of elections) - so that is what they want. They aren’t going to invade Israel or be a threat to anyone in the Western world, if they actually turn into a legitimate democracy, they’ll be too concerned with rebuilding their country.
And transisions to democracy from dictatorships are hard. The first European countries (like France) that made the transition took hundreds of years to get it right. For a more modern example look at Russia - it may call itself a democracy, but it sure as hell isn’t one. It will take time to get it right, but time to work through the problems is the only thing that will make it right - continuing a dictatorship will not help.
And all of you that are calling them ‘animlas’ or ‘socially underdeveloped’? That isn’t worthy of any comment at all.

Yet you did. Carry on because this is entertaining.
