This'll be peanut compared to what'll happen if they allow the Muslim Brotherhood to win the election. The Egyptian generals are trying to do what Turkey's generals did for years, keep Egyypt a secular state...relatively speaking. This why the West needs to stay out of Syria, and should have stayed the fuck out of Libya....and by extension, using hindsight, Iraq.

CN gas, is also known as mace.

Quote:
CR gas is a lachrymatory agent (LA) exerting its effects through activation of the TRPA1 channel.[2] Its effects are approximately 6 to 10 times more powerful than those of CS gas. CR causes intense skin irritation, particularly around moist areas, blepharospasm causing temporary blindness, coughing and gasping for breath, and panic. It is capable of causing immediate incapacitation. It is a suspected carcinogen. It is toxic, but less so than CS gas, by ingestion and exposure. However, it can be lethal in large quantities. In a poorly ventilated space, an individual may inhale a lethal dose within minutes. Death is caused by asphyxiation and pulmonary edema.

it's a former French possession. if thy want to intervene tey can do it alone. it's not like they've had much sucess in their former arab colonies. they couldn't even keep Algeria, which was for all intents and purposes part of France, with a French population numbering in the millions.

They had some Egyptian billionaire on the National the other night, talking to Mansbridge. He said that the Arab Spring failed and that now a bigger danger threatens, that of the religious fundamentalists coopting the 'revolutions' just as they did in Iran. The uprisings started with moderates and liberals clamouring for change, but Islamists threaten to use elections to kill any chance of a real democracy ever taking root.

He was calling for Western intervention, not direct military involvement, but strongly worded warnings that military intervention could occur if the religious crazies get out of hand like they did in Afghanistan. He also warned that time was running out very quickly. He said that moderates and liberals who desire a secular society, are poorly organized and funded, and that the Muslim Brotherhood, who stand to win a majority in an election, are very well organized and they are being bankrolled by Saudi Arabia and Qatar. As a Copt, he is very worried about the rise of arab religious nationalism

Civil War is going to break out in Egypt and possibly spread to Libya and even Syria, bad at that is the major concern for the west should be the stability of Pakistan because if this uprising spreads there god help us all if that Government falls.

Theocracies popping up in the ME and North Africa will only encourage the terrorist fifth columns already in Europe. Civil unrest will only increase there, as the Euroweenies lack the will to confront and deal with the barbarians infesting their societies.
