I don't think there is a difference.

Three situtions where large groups of the population are unsatisified and lashing out.

Three situations where the government has resorted to extreme violence to end protest.

Bang on and brilliant!

(save for that tiny fact that the Syrians and Egyptians are on a daily basis, putting their lives on the line to effect real political change away from authoritarian regimes and move towards democracy while the OWS protesters pictured here - and that's if they aren't the G20 crowd - are pissy about some corporate corruption and political indifference along with a litany of other issues - oh and it's quite possible many of them can't be bothered to vote in the decomcratic process that your other two examples are trying to achieve - oh, and that the OWS protesters can lose their shit in the streets with the comfortable thought that at worst, they might get pepper sprayed and arrested, not sniped at with 7.62 mm bullets - and uh... protesters in Syria that would rig up a tent occupation would not have it removed with a bylaw, but with tanks)

... other than that, your example is simply stunning in its shrewd political acumen! [B-o]

Yeah, I also bet none of them think the term "protest" means city by-laws no longer apply to them.

I bet they have by-laws in Syria and Egypt too.

I bet they have huge groups of sheep there too supporting the status quo against their own best interests and that think the protestors are a bunch of whining, jobless retards.

Some of them are, many of them are not although the ones garnering the spotlight from the leftie biased MSM seemed to be the kooks.

That being said, if you wish the conversation to dumb down into a simple flamefest because not all of the 99% seem to be willing to drink the koolaid your ladling out by the quart and therefore they are nothing more than sheep, say the word.

If not, then maybe a slightly less ridiculous comparison between the slaughter in Syria and a public park camp in might be in order.

So let me understand this correctly... Going from a dictatorship to another form of government risking your life is the same as "Those wall-street asses pay too little taxes and get way too high bonuses-let us camp out in a private park with our tents".

Why did you leave out the Vancouver riots?

If you know you’re place and you’re willing to accept it than I guess protest is ridiculous. If you understand that by standing up and not accepting the status quo, 99% of us can be better off, then why not do something about it?

Apparently you’ve been programmed to accept your lot in life. That is not a bad thing, contentment is a good, healthy way to live. Just because you “could be” better off doesn’t mean you “have to be” better off to be satisfied. Fair enough. I learned something today.

The only people who are “incorrect” in my eye then would be those who are discontent but unwilling to do anything about it.

Tell me, what is their goal exactly? What is their plan?
All I see is "hey, we are not happy, we want... uhhhh, what do we want? Ah, who cares, pass the Dutchie, dude"...

Considering that the Wall Street money pays for the billions that are spent on elections...

Considering that the Wall Street big wigs are also the same fat cats that have the key to the Federal Reserve...

Considering that the easiest way to get something done in America is to line the pockets of the elected officials...

Considering a big chunk of Americans are unemployed...

Considering that big banks, lenders and brokers took billions from taxpayers...

Considering that millions cannot afford health care...

I resolve that NOT PROTESTING is akin to accepting living under a dictatorship of the 1%.

But like I said, I object to fighting wars instead of building hospitals and funding schools. If that is not your cup of tea then by all means, sit on your hands and watch. I might be a happier person if I were content and could let everything be because "we are free and live in a democracy". But I see schools closed and people homeless and sick people with no access to care and massive government waste and greed...I'm not able to just let that go and be content.

Good for you folks who don't mind seeing your friends and neighbours suffer, there is something to be said for sleeping well at night despite injustices.

Apparently playing the forum idiot is your lot. What I said was ridiculous was your assertion that the OWS protests on are on par as the regime protests in the middle east. Toss out the go carts and Formula One are the same thing as well genius.

For fuck sakes I don't know what it is these days that leads guys like you to conclude that not buying every single aspect of the hugely multi-faceted OWS movement somehow makes your a proponent of the Man and some kind of corporate stooge. Disagree with any aspect of the OWS or any argument put forward by the koolaid chugging elite that have thrown their lot in it means ultimately "if you ain't with us, ye're agin us!"

Sound familiar?

Possibly it's the fact that not thinking in black and white hurts your little brain too much.
