I also read (in a Dutch paper) that the day after she was "attacked", she called a friend in prison, and told him that "the guy is filthy rich, I know what I am doing".

Strauss-Kahn does not need to rape anyone. He can afford top of the line escorts, plus, they basically invented cheating in France. His wife wouldn't leave him for that and his career wouldn't be ruined if he did cheat on her.

Haven't been following this particular case in detail, but just watned to point out that rape is rarely (if ever) about the attacker not being able to get laid; some people just get off on the idea of forcing sex on someone against their will. In other cases, particularly where the attacker is wealthy, famous,or otherwise powerful, the attack often stems from a sense of entitlement and anger over a rejected advance -i.e. "nobody refuses me" syndrome.

As a counter, wealthy people are often tricked into a rape case while they did nothing wrong, just to get to the money.

Understood, but my point is simply that we shouldn't be suspicious of allegations simply because the accused is wealthy, good looking, or otherwise seems to have easy access to consensual sex.

Oh, absolutely.
I said from the start, IF he did it, he deserves everything he has coming to him. But if he DID NOT (and it looks like that right now), he lost everything he worked for, but his wife. He was a high placed guy with the IMF, he was going to run for presidency in France. Not so much now. And why? Because some bimbo wants money. She doesn't have as much to loose, if you know what I mean. She already has the reputation to be a liar, so no strange things there. HE however, lost everything.

Other stories say a recording was made of her with a man she was visiting in prison. She told him that Straus-Khan was rich and she would make money out of this. The guy in prison was there for dealing pot and he and others had made $100,000's of deposits to this woman's bank account. She is looking very sketchy.

Straus-Khan comes of looking like a sleaze bag, that he had consensual sex with a hotel maid (I would guess for money) is nothing to brag about. But it looks like she decided she wasn't paid enough and oould make a few more bucks off this.

And with the timing of this and the French elections, people are wondering about conspiracy of course, which is given more credibility by her skeezy past.
