Yes. Most often those young men are being manipulated by someone older.

Andyt, is that typical of young men in criminal gangs in North America? Unless "older" means 24 rather than 19, I doubt it.

I think young men being destructive idiots is more often a symptom of rebellion against adult authority than obedience to it.
