Some Canadians are condemning Chavez for his referendum on giving them something Canadians have had since confederation, no limit on the number of terms a president can run for re election . Neither Canada , nor Britain nor many other democratic nations have any limit on the number of terms a PM can run for, a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
I do like the proposal in the referendum for reducing the work day to 6 hours from 8, giving quality of life priority over materialism. This is something we could use here in Canada. When do we get our referendum on this issue?
They may well find out that people get more done in 6 hours than they currently do in 8 hours.
Brent

Chavez lost the referendum by about 1%. Too bad. If he had kept it slightly simpler and hadn't tried to change too much , he would have won.
Brent

I think it should be pointed out that the fact that Chavez accepted the loss gaciously and the fact that he lost at all, proves beyond any reasonable doubt that he is a democrat , totally willing to accept the will of his people, and proves that the election was free and fair.
It was forecast to be very close and the fact that it was, shows that it was a fair election. Had he won, there would have been all kinds of accusations of fraud. Shows who the real liars are.
Brent
