Weather is looking good. The only damp you're likely to see is the tears of despair as you pay for the ferry. What part of the island are you camping on?

Cowichan Lake..I grew up in Victoria so I just have to grow back my gills

Gills? That might come from living in Vancouver, or points north on the island, but I never thought of Victoria itself as damp. I remember lots of summers where there were brown lawns and water restrictions. Enjoy the skeeters.

Cowichan is on the wrong side of the Malahat, they get extra punishment for that.

Well, I'm a foreign worker and I've been in Canada for 3 years now, totally enjoying it . Currently living in Alberta. My background is Moroccan though.
