Hmmm....if I recall correctly, upon beaming down to a planet, Captain Kirk would A) make-out with some alien chick, B) get in a fight, C) have Spock bail him out, or D) send some anonymous lackey in a red shirt off in the wrong direction.

Welcome from Southwestern Ontario. I met a guy in a bar one night who told me his father ran a bar in Hollywood in the 1950s. He said his old man knew all the Golden Age stars: Bogie, Sinatra, Welles, yada yada. Apparently Gene Roddenberry was a regular in this joint. This guy I met swore up and down that his father had come up with the whole Star Trek-thing and Roddenberry stole it from him.

Yeah, so, I fucking hate Star Trek. That Replicator-do-dad pretty much makes economists obsolete in a couple of hundred years. Ehhh, maybe we had it coming.
