Long before I could afford a descent camera my old Kodak Brownie did the job.

That was when clogs were the hight of fashion. 8)

Do you remember the Ilford box camera?

Hmmm I might be in Hamilton this summer... that depends on a lot of things falling in to place however. I've always wanted to take a really good camera into a museam, I dont know what it is I can never take good pictures indoors with a compact.

Get used to not using a flash...there are alot of museums that dont allow flash.

Yep, fast lense is the way to go. I notice most of your stuff was long Tattood. I'm the other way, the longest thing I have is a 70-200 and rarely use it. I'm hoping to get more use out of it on a full frame sensor.
I mostly use my 16-35 F2.8 and my 50 F1.2, with the odd use of my 24-105 F4 and the honking heavy 24-70 F2.8.

The 16-35 was one of my most used lenses. Mainly for open aperture night shots of city centre traffic.

I don't actually remember it but I am aware of it. My first decent camera was an OM20. My first camera was a crappy Kodak Disk camera, which was very dissapointing. After my first shots came back from Boots, I bought the OM20. Then I got a minolta then the Canon 20D.

Sweet... I've picked up a few pointers here too! I've got a Nikon D80 which has served me well, but I've heard lots of positive things about the Canon Rebel. Could very well be my next big purchase after I get my darkroom all set up. :D
