I never said we were "saved" by anything. I said the railroad sealed the deal.

Yeah it did, but I had to point out to guys like Manifest that there was no way we'd go for annexation. There was actual anti-American sentiments when this province and the country was formed.
And we're pretty distinct in BC over 'socialism' too. Don't forget it was WAC Bennett and his team who decided we needed ferries and Black Ball & CP weren't doing a good job so he bought them and made BC Ferries. BC Electric was fumbling it's way so he bought it and made BC Hydro. The PGE accomplished nothing so he bought it and made BC Rail. All the while fighting 'the socialist hordes'... nowadays anyone who doesn't want to undo and privatize everything Bennett and the Socreds did is accused of being a socialist!

I'm not sure what the cow has to do with your argument. Maybe you were referring to the United States stopping shipments of diseased Canadian cows from enter their marketplace.

He's never been to the USA. CBC does a good job of brainwashing the kids in Canada.

I don't even watch the news anymore, I watch CBC for their documentaries and an occasional glance in the 10 minutes before I run off for school.
