We lived in Timmins at the time of the "grand opening" of the centre. It was fun and people were enthused about it. But the fact is that Timmins is just too far off the beaten path for tourism.
Now Shania Twain's Canada Day concert at Hollinger Park in 1999... that was a bash! About 20,000 people in attendance (in a city of 45,000) and she put on a hell of a show!
She's always been one of my favourites.
