Warm (not hot today) and hazy. Smoke from wildfires is crawling into my neck of the woods...

Had the roof off the Jeep all week and wondered what all the dust blowing around inside was from the other day. When I stopped I noticed ash from all the fires stuck all over the plastic of the hard top. Started raining yesterday though...

Dark, grey, fully overcast, 14C, zero to very light breeze, precipitation about the same. Overall, an extremely neutral day, a nice change from the muggy, hot weather of last week.

Special weather statement in effect for: Québec
Rainfall at times heavy over Central and Eastern Quebec.
A low pressure system south of Lake Ontario is tracking northeastward and will reach the Lower Saint-Laurent tonight. A band of heavy rain associated with this system will give significant rainfall amounts over areas near the track of the system. From 30 to 40 millimetres of rain is expected generally and up to 60 mm over the Eastern Townships and Beauce areas, a rainfall warning has thus been issued for these Areas.

Been getting a lot of weather warnings lately...
Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for: Québec area
Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, dime to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.
You know I would think that the concept was goofy under any other circumstances but I used to sail with an Englishman who survived the bombing of Coventry (and his house) when he was a four year old, with his grandfather, hiding under the dining room table.

...and people have survived a tornado hiding in the bathroom.
But in the case of an atomic bomb, I think I'd rather die quickly from the initial blast than slowly from radiation poisoning.

... put a white sheet over your head and walk to the cemetery in an orderly manner, if you would.
