It was -30°C yesterday morning and it's -17°C this morning, with light snow. An improvement as long as the Dr. shows up.

Well we're doing better today than yesterday. It's bright sunshine, -16°C and no wind at all. The sun is actually warm. Yesterday, I don't think we got any warmer than -25°C. Mind you it was sunny and no breeze either. You know it's cold when even the natives won't go outside.

Seems to me we've been getting a lot of rain lately, unlike last year. Maybe that's El Nino.

I was talking to a young homeless guy who says he thinks the weather has been great, he has no problem sleeping rough. He was towing a pretty big load with his bike, so maybe he's got enough gear to keep warm. Said sleeping out in the winter in Winnipeg, that was tough. I've camped in -40, but that was for a couple of days, and I had a down bag and all the gear. Pretty tough young guy who said he doesn't collect welfare (can't really without an address), works when he can.

And here I thought it was a somewhat drier than normal winter, until the beginning of February when it seemed to be getting back to normal....who knows!

Average rainfall for Vancouver in January is 223 mm, this year we got only 167.2 mm and in January 2015 we got only 156.0.....so I guess it was slightly drier over the last couple of years.

Wet here too and mild as it has been for days. Up to 8C during the day and staying above 0 at night.

A sunny day would be nice.
