bootlegga bootlegga:

It was +17 at 7:30, so I went for a bike ride, and it felt great!

Sitting in a room with my big ass computer is not going to be fun this afternoon. 8O

Luckily, I have a basement now, so that will be nice. :)

Agreed, one of the few things about going to the office during the summer was the A/C. We just have to suck it up I guess.

Working in a data center was actually the opposite. In Winter it seems too warm, in the Summer it's too cold. ;) Then when you go outside from 15-16 degrees to 30, it's almost oppressive.

Ahh, so it's like Tokyo, where it's 32+ degrees outside in the summer, but everyone (restaurants, stores, subway trains, etc.) runs the A/C at near freezing temperature so you're constantly going back and forth from one extreme to the other.

+36°C, bright sunny, 22% humidity. That's low humidity for Winnipeg. Is humidity really that low? Feels moist.

Wonderfully cool today with a little bit of rain. A relief after a couple of very warm days with high humidity.

Tuesday night I barely slept as it was so warm and when I checked Environment Canada records it was no wonder as the humidity level was over 90%.

We had a thunderstorm roll through earlier this afternoon and a watch is still in effect, but it looks like it might be clearing up a bit.

* Fingers crossed

Just finished mowing the lawn, it started to piss rain.
Dashed into the carport and when I looked left, it wasn't raining at the next door neighbour's. Sharp wet line down one side of his driveway, dry as a bone on the other.
Looked up and the rain cloud looked to be only 2 or 3 city lots wide!

Sunny getting up to 28 feeling like 31 but the killer is the overnight low of 21 feeling like 23!! Airs on in hopes of sleeping tonight. The next 5 days are looking hot humid with possible thunderstorms. Oh joy.

I love a good T-storm, even if it creates little potholes in my truck.

My cat . . .not so much.

This next week or so is going to be a bitch. No rain in sight at all.

From Environment Canada:

$1:
A dangerous long duration heat wave will affect B.C. beginning on Friday and lasting until at least Tuesday.

Threat: Daytime highs ranging from 29 to 37 degrees celsius combined with overnight lows of 18 to 20 degrees celsius. Humidex values during this period will reach the high 30's to possibly the low 40's.

Locations: Metro Vancouver - Central, Metro Vancouver SW, Metro Vancouver - North Shore, Greater Victoria, Howe Sound, Whistler, Sunshine Coast, Southern Gulf Islands, East Vancouver Island, Inland Vancouver Island.

Timespan: Friday to at least Tuesday.

Remarks: An exceptionally strong ridge of high pressure will develop over British Columbia likely resulting in record breaking temperatures. The duration of this heat wave is concerning as there is little relief at night with elevated overnight temperatures. This record-breaking heat event will increase the potential for heat-related illnesses.
