Having a big BBQ in the desert with my off roading club buddies, its a family affair so no one gets left out.

The spot is not too far out from the city where we can a clear view of the Burj Khalifa and its fireworks :D

Sounds neat.

Here in North America an outdoor a BBQ for News Yew Years wouldn't work out too well.
When I was a kid in Hawaii going swimming on New Years day was a tradition, since was moved back to the East Coast (like real fresh bananas) that tradition got left behind.

Here in North America we have outdoor bbqs 365 days a year especially New Year's Eve.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Mrs. Bart and I will be staying home. She'll be asleep around 9pm and I plan on going to bed right after the 10pm news.

Come Sunday morning we'll both be awake and sans hangovers.

Pretty much same here.

Fish and chips for dinner, no Slovak fireworks exploding everywhere,
no motorcycles to move, so it will be quiet.

BBQ salmon and steak for New Year's Day.

I will be at home with my wife and best friend enjoying the canada/usa junior hockey game, some beer and good wine. Then before midnight, as my wife is formally from the Philippines, there will be 13 round fruit on the counter, banging of pots, shaking of coins in metal cans, and other noise making til the clock strikes midnight!!!!

Over to the community centre for food & visiting with some friends and family. I haven't 'celebrated' New Years for a long time, but some of the 'Blue Hairs' can go till the wee hours of the morning.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone. [B-o]

Lady Animal and I will be watching the Leaf/Jets game, then switching back and forth between that game and the Canada/US juniors game, and then watching the South Park marathon. Got a big, fluffy bag of high test buds.
We shall be dining on home-made turkey pie and chocolate brownie ice cream.

The $2500 dividend cheque I got today won't hurt things either..Good way to end the year

Going to a friends place for a "kid friendly" new years party. The most likely home to bed. Very boring. As befits a family man. Hope to make up for it day after. Hello handcuffs lol

Not a whole lot on New Years Eve but I will have dinner with some of my friends on Sunday hoping that 2012 will be a bit better than 2011.

Highs have been in the 60s here all week. I think "North America" is too big a place to generalize about it's weather.
