Well, as for me, I'm going to be with my family till 00:15 and after that will prolong the celebration with my friends. Of course, I can't get drunk like a Ukrainian pig in front of my relatives . Yesterday I took two friends and we bought enough for our New Year's celebration: a bottle of champaign, 2 bottles of vodka, wine, ham, juice, salats we will take from home etc. So I'm ready . Aw, and in addition I've passed all subjects in the institute and I'm ready for my winter exams. I have everything needed to pass them, minimal mark is "B". Muahaha, let's all dance with me because of it. My friend has an old Polish house, built in 1917, it's warm and we will be there. So happy New Year to you and yours, let the celebrations begin, have a good Canadian frost
And today is another infamous date , 2 years I've been here with you, damn, time is flowing like water, so have a good time, have a drink for me one cup of Canadian whiskey, or what you drink there

I'll hopefully be celebrating with heavy intoxication and some peace and quiet. I purposefully slept through the New Years 'turnover' last year because that was a shitty year and I had down hopes about this one. I figure I should stay awake to hope for a better year this time, maybe such a superstition will bring about some odd change. All about mood, right?

Fairly quiet here... I've got a few people coming over so I'll be cooking.

The problem for me is that I think I'm allergic to booze now.
For a couple of weeks now, as soon as I have some, I get a splitting headache.
Not as if I was a heavy drinker, far from it... I must really be getting old.

Having a big BBQ in the desert with my off roading club buddies, its a family affair so no one gets left out.

The spot is not too far out from the city where we can a clear view of the Burj Khalifa and its fireworks

Sounds neat.

Here in North America an outdoor a BBQ for News Yew Years wouldn't work out too well.
When I was a kid in Hawaii going swimming on New Years day was a tradition, since was moved back to the East Coast (like real fresh bananas) that tradition got left behind.

It'll be a quiet night for me. A few beers while watching the Canadian Jr game then the Canucks game. Then off to bed. Have to be at work earlier than usual on Sunday morning. Must be up by 6am so no getting carried away this year for me!
