Sigh!

At 2:30 this morning we hit -67 degree's.
Our fuel truck died, our old loader died and our new one now has a flat tire. all we have for access in or out of camp now is the sno-cat or the d9 which is too heavy for the ice.
After all this Nuna tells me this morning that we have another grader at their first camp 120 kliks away and if they find the time they will shovel it out for us.. 8O

Time to phone some head honcho's and drop all this in their laps.I dont have enough pull to order someone to get that grader to us but I know a few who do.

Cold temps = flat tires, if the bead is not broken take a couple cans of air out to it and then run it up to the shop to fill it up.

The beads broke,it's ether time! or maybe a lil acetylene.

Now the fuel trucks got a flat....inside dual of course. I'm scared to even touch anything more today.

Here's a pic of our brand new loader and Nuna's loader which was used to douse the flames on ours.

Our loader is under that big snowpile. 8O

You know, here if we have to leave a machine running outside overnight I will ask one of the guys if they would mind checking on it sometime during the night,OT applies, just make sure it's not leaking oil or going to burst into flames.

Way cheaper then loseing a 3/4 million dollar loader to a fire because no on was watching it as it's parked right next to a 600 man camp.Took these today.

Did his luggage arrive ? maybe he had a few to many drinks, passed out and is going round and round on a carousal in the Yellowknife airport.

That loader fire must have been electrical don’t you think Zig ? Hydraulic oil can fire up like gas but I think you need an open flame to ignite it. I know a paver operator that had just lit the burners on a paver and at the same time had a pin hole leak on a hose. Between the fine mist and the burners on fire, the back of the paver exploded and lit him up good.
