Now the other guy (who had not entered the home, but fled) has turned himself in and will probably be charged with first degree murder because his partner in crime died during that crime, and she is not to blame. How do you guys feel about that?
My personal opinion is this. The guy who threatened her and entered her home is dead. She did what she had to to defend herself and her child. IMO, that should be the end of it when it comes to the death of this guy. No one should be charged.
The guy who turned himself in should be charged with attempt to *insert crime (robbery, invasion of a property, whatever big words they use)*, but not with murder or anything else, because he didn't threaten her, he was not in her house...
I will paraphrase; " All persons involved in the commission of any crime are held to be equally guilty".
As to 'how it is' in Canada, this is how one RCMP advised me: " If you have to shoot the bastard, and he happens to fall, land,or stagger
outside of your home, drag his sorry ass back inside before you call us"!
