Is it just me or does anyone else find it somewhat amusing that the Bank of England was founded by a Scotsman while the Bank of Scotland was founded by an Englishman?

Hopefully, like Ireland, an independent Scotland would not become a Nato member.

Send the English nuclear subs packing, to the Thames or Gilbratar (which the Spanish would never abide). Better yet, then rent the docks to the Russians.

Since Gibraltar doesn't belong to Spain their opinion is irrelevant.

SNP seems to favour a Euro-oriented foreign policy. Why would they abandon that to join an increasingly isolated Russia?

So you hate NATO but would advance Russia at the cost of your own security.

-5 because I can't reach out and bust your nose like you deserve.

From the Guardian just now:

Quote:
The campaign against Scottish independence appears to have edged ahead in the final poll of the referendum campaign, with the no campaign at 53% of decided voters compared with the yes group's 47%.

Note that this may be a case of push-polling where the purpose of the poll is to suppress one opinion and promote a bandwagon effect for the other.

If so we'll find out. If this is accurate then the Scots will stay in the Union.

These kind of people absolutely cannot be allowed to have control of their own country. Christ Jesus it'd be like the black death all over again.

Scotland is another Scandinavian country geographically, ethnically and historically. They'll fit right in with Norway, Denmark, Finland which are about the same sized countries with economies based on the similar sorts of activities as that of Scotland.

Norway even dissolved a union with Sweden in a somewhat similar manner 109 years ago.
