Coltsrmint2 here. I think I have to turn in my Medal..Soldier..I am now retired from the Regular Force after 21 years. I did however become a Double Dipper....I did exactly what I said I would never do, joined the Reserves.....

No, you don't have to return that medal because in this day and age "retired" all too often translates to "we just let you have an extended leave". :wink:

But I do believe as an aspiring former soldier that you are now entitled to the exalted rank of 'Veteran' and all of the rights and privileges accordant to that rank. [B-o]

Thanks, I wasn't sure how that was going to work.
I did hear that were I live, you can park at all paid parking meters for free if I have Veteran's plates...I am thinking of it as parking downtown can get expensive....

A soldier is a soldier. Even a retired one.
Since you said you are still in the reserve, it means that if they need you, you have the knowledge of being a soldier.

Like Proculation said, being a reservist means you're still a soldier.

Nope...no need what so ever for that, unless you would prefer the veteran medal?
