52 years ago England was humbled by the US

Militarily the UK won but the debt from WWII made the UK vulnerable. The US did not approve and as a result threatened to sell off British pounds. This forced the resignation of Prime Minister Anthony Eden and the UK pull out. Canada saved the day by stepping in to fill the void. The lessons learned then are valuable, I hope we don't need to relearn them.

We should consider doing this to the US if they ever get too cocky... Hmmm...

We don't own as much of the US debt as Japan, China, the UK or OPEC does.

Better known to others, as how the West screwed over Israel....again. This is a good example of how the Jewish State didn't have carte blanche from the US, as some would have us think, and how the West was ready to let them hang out to dry in a Russian wind.
