Start a thread Tricks of Support and let's see what we can do as a team.

Is this a joke? That ship is one of the greatest symbols of Canada's effort during the Second World War. I have been on it several times, and it's a really interesting thing to see. With all the government wasting, your telling me that can't fork out 0.0005% of the budget for something meaningful?

The only thing that has changed about the Chicken Burger is the ownership. They even still have that old scale that gives you a fortune there. It don't work but it is still there!

Going to start asking around tommorow to find out what is going on with Sackville. The 100th birthday of the Navy is coming up in 2011. I cannot begin to imagine that we are going to celebrate it without Sackville having pride of place.

we have to keep at least one ship.

Never forget.....it's easier to forget when we have nothing left of the era. This is important, on a lot of levels

Why is it called Sackville anyway? Or who is the town named after?

There were two class of corvettes that made up the bulk of our fleet in WWII. Flower and River class. The Sackville is a Flower class. If memory serves, the Flower designator came from the original UK version. Sackville was named, again to my shame I am not entirely sure, after the town of Scakville NB.

I found it Wiki said it.

The name "Sackville" honours British military commander George Germain, 1st Viscount Sackville.
