I was wondering if some people could shed some light on the War of 1812 between British North America(Canada) and the United States. Its been a long time since we studyed it in school, and we didnt go into much detail. I do hear that we burn't the WHitehouse, and one of the great Canadian Leaders Was Isaac Brock, who died in battle. I also know with the help of the BNA Natives we kicked some american ass.

Thats 1 and 0 for Canada I beleive :D

We have Chysler Farm battle fied memorial near us, and a lot of the battles were in our area...In the canadian War Museum they have Sir Issac Brocks tunic witrh the bullet hole of the round that killed him....We burned the White house in retaliatiuon for them burning Yorkville(Toronto)

didn't we burn the whitehouse twice?

what was the battle where some how the "canadians" got wind of an attack to an outpost, and sent ships and troops there to surprise the american's.
something like that anyway

I believe Brock was killed at the Battle of Queenston Heights? 1812 also brought Laura Secord, Canada's first heroine. And the great Shawnee leader, Tecumseh, who really wasn't fighting for Canada. He sided with the British because he considered them to be the lesser of two evils.
I also know that we burnt the Whitehouse at least once.

We didnt burn down the white house, litteraly. From what I heard, the white house wasnt even white. It was a reddish color and when we came down and lit it on fire the pain twent from red to white. Besides you cant burn down the white house, its made of concrete.

I think it was burned down twice.........An american Master Sergeant was beaking off about how the Americans are God's gift to soldiering when someone I was with piped up and told him to shut up, 'cause we booted their asses in 1812 AND burned down the white house 2 times.....He was speechless.......They kept him where he belonged, guarding rations and ammo for 2 weeks............The Yanks GOTTA love their passive neighbours to the North eh?

We didn't actually burn it down, but we did light it on fire. After we left they some dignitaries expected to arrive in a few days, and white was the only colour available to cover the charring.

Well, you could at least let me THINK we burned the thing down, not once, but twice. Not too often I can bash americans with some fuzzy world history, especially when we pummeled them..... :D
