Indians like Cdn_Bear make me believe there is still hope for this country's original native inhabitants. These almost self made men regard their ancestry with the same convictions that some fourth generation Scot would but when push comes to shove Canada always comes before race or creed.
That they rise above the racial rhetoric and integrate and establish solidly in the greater community to the animosity of the simple minded advocates of apartheid is a testament that the cream always rises to the top.
One thing is for sure, the future children of Cdn_Bear will be productive, solid and equal citizens in Canada while the offspring of BC, DB and FOTM will still be clamouring for more rights and more largesse like pathetic dogs begging from their masters for table scraps.
You don't know me, Grainfedprairieboy. Actually deep down I wouldn't mind. But unfortunately the Feds and the NDN's probably need to meet halfways. Thats the only way both sides are going to be happy. There is lotsa Hard-core die-hards on both sides. Sorry to disappoint you. I'm not one of them. I don't really care, I personally want the whole thing to just blow away. Well, why do I get flamed up sometimes? The times I notice I flame out is when people start saying NDN's this NDN's that. And I wanted to clarify the misconceptions, is all. Example: Ndn's don't pay taxes, they do, probably all there lifes. Going back to my offsbring, I have 2 of my sons are MMA, fighters, which have turned pro, last year. My one son is a computer techy, and wants to go the regular Armed Forces. My one son works for the City for 3 years, now. My daughter is being a mommy, until her lil ones are big enough, so she can pursue a career. Her fianca works construction. They don't like going to stay in the reserves. I took them out of there when they were practically new born. Do I teach them about the NDN's whats entitled to them? No. One think I do tell them, Always remember who you are. Do not let no one, try to make you think you are this, and that about being an Indian. That is not the facts. Realise who you are Im not asking you to be uppity about it. We belong on this soil more than anybody else. But you don't have to have an attitude about it. Just make yourselves a living you only live once. You want to make a living? You have to go after it.
