The Squamish don't "own" all of Vancouver, although they do own nice chunks of the North Shore and "outlying territories". In order to legally evict the churches, they'll have to prove/settle their claims, and so far as I know, they haven't done so. They also own the land where Park Royal is situated... why didn't they include the mall in the eviction notice?
Shut the mall down? Unthinkable.

"Finally, it is the aim of this campaign to bring to justice those persons responsible for the crime against humanity known as the Indian Residential School system, and therefore we will be establishing Indigenous Courts of Justice on Squamish Nation territory where those accused of such crimes will be brought for trial and sentencing. "
I'm waiting to see how this little move works. What kind of power will this have over the Charter?
Oh...and there wasn't any genocide either. Thanks for the revisionist nonsense.

Not. Cool.
Although many Natives (not all) have some really silly issues, but please...don't go to that.

Also - I bet each of the churches does more to help the homeless and hungry than the whole Squamish Nation put together. Aboriginal and Treaty Rights exist on traditional land, whether land claims are settled yet or not. Land claims are about outright ownership, Aboriginal Title, whereas traditional lands are always subject to Aboriginal Rights. This means some say in development and use of the land, and revenue sharing. Apparently Chief Kiapalano does not agree with the Churches using the land any more.
And how exactly is he going to enforce, "we will be establishing Indigenous Courts of Justice on Squamish Nation territory where those accused of such crimes will be brought for trial and sentencing"?

The Churches should tell the Chief and his henchman Kevin Pipsqueak to take a long walk off a short pier or "Back under your bridge trolls, you have no power here!"
Either will work for me.

Now there is another band of idiots that have no power here, "international volunteers" trying to set up kangaroo courts.
